04 / Technical skills
Skills.
What I'm strong at, and what you can dig into with me in an interview.
01 / Technical skills
Tap a skill to see why it’s a strength and where I’ve used it
I'm strong here because I've sat on both sides: I've run the helpdesk and I've set agency policy. So I plan technology around what people actually need, not what looks good on a slide. Governance matters because without it, projects drift, budgets slip, and security gets bolted on at the end.
When I’ve used it
At the Illinois State Board of Education I wrote and executed the IT strategic plan and set policy that reaches 852 school districts.
02 / Qualities
Leadership
I've built and run IT teams of 110+ across several state agencies.
Communication
I explain technical plans plainly, whether I'm talking to executives or a school district.
Critical thinking
I dig into a problem before I decide, then I commit to the call.
Problem solving
I'm comfortable owning messy, high-stakes issues from start to finish.
Adaptability
I've moved across healthcare, banking, government, and education without missing a step.
Consensus building
I get people who disagree to land on a plan they can all back.
